Two selections for today, first up we have Broken Halo at evens in the 1:35 at Chepstow. He won his point over three miles before a couple of novice races over two miles five. His first novice hurdle race was disappointing and was pulled up after a couple of poor jumps. He put that behind him next time winning easily, travelling really well before keeping on well and winning a going away six lengths from a well fancied Tizzard runner. Upped in trip here to the three miles at which he won his point will surely suit looking at his finish last time out. I don’t think Major Dundee’s form amounts to much and his runs over two miles five for me have never screamed for a step up in trip. Johnny B has form over this trip but I feel in weaker races. Young Lieutenant recently won a two miles jumpers bumper and the three miles put me off him and the other two runners look like future handicappers and have achieved nothing so far. I’ll be playing this as a 1pt win.
The other selection is a little more interesting, Danseur Du Large each way at 11/1, he is back down to his last winning mark where he won at three miles two. His runs since have been over inadequate trips and admittedly not great runs there. On the back of a decent enough third last time where he stayed on despite having lost a shoe, he has been dropped back to 100. In August last year he actually won off of 107 and I think he should at least be placing here. With four places available he looks a very decent bet.
1:35 Chepstow – Broken Halo 1/1 1pt win
2:37 Chepstow – Danseur Du Large 11/1 0.5pts each way (4 Places)
