13:45 Edwardstone 17/2 each way, Warlord 50/1 each way 7 places (Sky) 5 elsewhere!

Edwardstone deserves to win a big race after an excellent third in the betfair hurdle, and an even better close fifth in the County at Cheltenham, he should be there abouts again off of 1 pound higher. Warlord comes in to the race off the back of an ok fourth of nine, that was significantly better than the previous run where he disappointed in the grade three Holloway. He has been dropped a few pounds and if back to form as his last run hinted I will hope he can fill one of the top 7 at a huge 50/1!

14:20 Dusart 9/4 win For Pleasure 12/1 each way

He will have to be very good here on only his second start but a lot of the others are very highly tried. That being said on debut he looked very high class, beating the Betfair winner Soaring Glory comfortably. Third time lucki has run well on occasions this year but has been found wanting a couple of times and I’ll take him on again today. Ajero steps up from handicap class and I think will find a couple too good. The two I rate as good each way chances would be For Pleasure, who was a good third in the supreme just behind Ballyadam. The track will play into his style of running and think he may be difficult to peg back. Houx Gris could also bounce back after a good run in the Boodles, with the winner that day backing that up last weekend.

14:50 Chantry House 15/8 win Sporting John 14/1 each way

Chantry House is a top close horse, my main concern is whether Cheltenham would have left its mark. But he comes off the back of a good win in the Marsh, he has only been beaten twice in his career and looks the clear best here on what we’ve seen. Sporting John will relish this step up in trip having stayed on well to win on his penultimate start, I was on last time when he fell at Cheltenham and hope he can make amends for that today with some place money for us!

15:25 Fakir Doudaries 3/1 win

An agonising 5 Grade One seconds since he won the Grade One Drinmore in December 19, the horses who have beaten him? Put The Kettle On, Notebook, Allaho and Chacun Pour Soir. I think the two miles four is better for him than it is for Notebook who disappointed at Cheltenham. There are no horses of the calibre of those that have beaten him here and as long as he hasn’t had too much taken out of him from his Ryanair second is the clear best horse in the race here.

16:05 Huntsman Son 14/1 each way, Realm Keeper 50/1 each way 7 places

Huntsman Son was a good place for us at a huge price at Cheltenham. He has been dropped two pounds for that in a race which in my opinion has less depth. I’m happy to back that up especially with 7 places on offer for us. The other who I think is great value and still ahead of the handicapper is Hatrick seeking Realm Keeper, he has earned his chance in this grade having won the last twice, most recently in a class three winning in taking style being eased down close home. He actually went off second favourite for a good listed race in France and think he has been over looked here massively, hopefully he will be in the first 7 for us.

16:40 Cape Gentleman 11/2 each way 4 places

Cape Gentlemen won very taking lunch last time having travelled across from Ireland for a well found race by the shrewd Emmet Mullins. He won the Grade Two Dovecote over two miles that day. I think he has a real chance here over Bravesmansgame who slightly disappointed in the Ballymore, he should get the trip but did weaken that day and finished some way back in third. Having won over two miles on the flat in the Irish Cesarewitch, I’m not worried about Cape Gentleman’s stamina here and with 4 places I’ll go each way as I feel he’s nailed on for top 4 at least!

17:15 Goobinator 20/1 each way, Leoncavallo 11/1 each way 6 places

Goobinator won the class two Scottish champion hurdle trial back in October last year, he seemingly got outstayed when only fifth next time out, before falling when running an excellent race when challenging for the win in a good class three. He arrives here on just a slightly higher mark than his last victory, and should have race fitness having run a good third in a jumpers bumper back in February. I think with 6 places 20/1 is fair in this open looking race. Leoncavallo was an eye catcher for me in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham. He was looking set to challenge before not quite staying home over that trip, back to 2 miles and off a lower mark he rates an excellent chance here and I’m very keen on him.
