1:50 Sandown - Striking a Pose 12/1 5 Places 0.5pts each way

Relished the step up in trip the last twice winning a handicap over 2 miles 5, in convincing fashion and then back in novice company over 2 miles 2 under a hands and heels ride. A bit of a trappy race I think he should reverse the form with Captain Morgs with the 2 miles 4 suiting him better. This horse still holds an entry for the Albert Bartlett and though I don't think he'll go, connections clearly rate him highly.

2:25 Sandown - Diego Du Charmil 16/1 4 places 0.5pts each way (12/1 6 places with William Hill) NON RUNNER

Markedly stepping down in class to compete here having been running exclusively in level weights graded hurdles races, the best form being half a length second to Song For Someone in Feb Last year. He returned with a listed third place and then a grade two third to Sceau Royal. He then disappointed in the grade one Christmas Hurdle behind Silver Streak and Epatante. Having been off since I suspect there was a problem that day and would like him in this if he ends up here, having prior to these hurdles runs been first and second in two high value handicap chases. His hurdle mark is 145 compared to a chase mark of 153, he's got the class here to at least be placing.

3:20 Navan - Gars De Sceaux 10/3 1pt win

This horse has form figures of 121, having won a maiden and a PTP either side of a second to Mares' Novice favourite Hook Up over 2 miles. His PTP was over 3 miles and the step up last time to 2 miles 4 suited. I think the price is value and though the favourite does have good form he does have to give away 3 pound to Denise Fosters horse

4:30 Navan - School Boy Hours 7/1 4 places 0.5pts each way

Last time out was his first handicap where he wasn't disgraced into fourth of seven, after a few months break. His best form however, has been over further than the 2 miles 4 last time. On his first start this season he ran an excellent second to Latest Exhibition staying on well over 2 miles 6. He then was fourth to Asterion Forlonge back over the 2 miles 4 again. He then got the 3 miles that todays trip is with a fine second to Eklat De Rire in a very hot beginners chase also including Run Wild Fred, The Big Dog. The run last time should have him primed and ready for this and I find it interesting they're going here instead of Cheltenham. With 4 places you'd be expecting him to place here as a minimum.

Nothing major this close to Cheltenham but I'll also be having a 10p each way Yankee for Saturday afternoon fun.
